Mr. Boyd Williams was originally born in Tennessee and raised in Michigan
where he lived until joining the Navy during the Korean War. After leaving
the Navy he was ordained in 1956 and served six years as Pastor of a rapidly
growing church in San Diego. In 1962 he traveled extensively with Overseas
Crusades Inc. ministering in several countries in Southeast Asia including
In 1963 he received an appointment to the Billy Graham Team, directing
crusades with Mr. Graham in scores of major cities both in the U.S. and
abroad. He concurrently carried out key assignments of the Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association, including Associate Director of Participants for
the historic Congress for World Evangelism held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
In 1972 using accrued vacation and personal time, Boyd served as
consultant to re-elect the President, working closely with top campaign
officials and White House staff. One of his more emotional assignments was assisting with the funeral arrangements for President Lyndon Baines Johnson at the LBJ Ranch at which Mr. Graham officiated.
In 1978 Boyd joined World Vision coordinating special projects and serving as local TV host for telethons.
Projects included directing activities for the 50th anniversary of Cameron Townsend’s first translation of
the Bible for Wycliffe Bible Translators and “Seasweep” a sea going vessel to rescue Vietnamese boat people
on the South China Sea.
Other opportunities included consulting with major Christian organizations, serving as Vice-President of Food For the Hungry Inc. Since then Boyd has been extensively involved with Gift in Kind and acquisition, logistics and shipment of humanitarian goods and supplies for numerous ministries including CERT International from his offices in San Diego.
In early 2009 at the Lord’s leading Boyd moved to Crossville Tennessee to work out of CERT’s main office where he continues to work with the acquisition of humanitarian supplies for both international and domestic ministries. He was recently blessed to be able to spend an afternoon visiting with Mr. Graham at his home in North Carolina. He has 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren living in California. The CERT Staff is pleased to have Boyd on board where his knowledge and experience continue to be a great blessing.
